Now Past: Holy Shift Size-mic Upgrade Conference Details
For decades our churches and ministries have been bumping up against the messages ‘size matters’, ‘bigger is better’, ‘grow to survive’ while evaluating and discerning our successes and struggles… But what if those aren’t the messages God wants us – congregants, leaders, ministers, staff, youth, elders, friends – to pay attention to? When we turn to scripture and sacred story, God’s messaging isn’t about numbers or size – it’s that we are enough, just as we are. This popular contemporary phrase is used often on an individual level, but what would it mean to embrace the affirmation we are enough at a congregational level? The Holy Shift Size-mic Upgrade Conference will live, work and play with this affirmation – aiming to shake the rhetoric up, discovering strengths and harnessing power as small and medium-sized communities of faith.
